The Bariatric Specialist HCG Program

What is HCG and how does it work?
Human chorionic gonadotropin is a bio identical hormone polypeptide protein that exists in the tissue in the human body in tiny amounts and is produced in large amounts by the body during pregnancy. Human chorionic gonadotropin allows the body to utilize your bad fat storage to produce energy. Also conserves your good fat. Human chorionic gonadotropin further spares lean muscle protecting it from muscle wasting as part of the weight loss. During pregnancy human chorionic gonadotropin uses calories and nutrition from the excess fat to feed the baby. In the same way, it will provide you from 2000 to 3000 calories a day from your existing fat storage. Therefore one will not be hungry on this program even though you are eating only 500 calories.
Remember you're not getting calories from this small amount of food you're eating but from calories and vitamins and nutrition that you already have stored in the fat from years of excess calorie intake. So that the energy that you're getting is actually the 500 calories of food being eaten plus the 2000 or 3000 calories being utilized from fat stores.
Why is HCG so popular?
Weight control clinics and physicians all over the country are using this, and in consistent demand because if done properly it works.
Not all HCG diet programs are equal
Dr. Moss is certified by the American Board of bariatric medicine. He has years of experience in helping patients lose and keep weight off. The patient can be assured that only the highest quality HCG will be used in this program. The medication used in this program is natural. It is created in a laboratory from sterile cells. It is not extracted from women or animal urine.
Who should not use HCG?
You will be under the care of a board certified physician, however one should not use this medication if you have ever had an:
We will not prescribe these medications for you if any of the above conditions exist.
Other things one should tell the prescribing physician if you ever had a thyroid or adrenal gland disorder. Also migraines, epilepsy, heart disease, undiagnosed uterine bleeding, asthma, ovarian cysts, thyroid or adrenal gland disorder. Particularly please notify the physician if you've had a cancer or tumor of the breast, ovary, uterus, prostate, hypothalamus, or pituitary gland.
How much Weight can I lose using the program?
Most patients report a loss of one to 2 pounds a day. So on 20 day program one can expect to lose about 20 pounds. On the 40 day program one can expect to lose up closer to 40 pounds. However, the heavier one is, and the more weight one needs to lose, the more likely you are to lose 1-2 pounds a day. If someone needs to lose a smaller amount of weight then they should expect to lose a little less weight daily. And most importantly the diet depends on following the weight regimen exactly. Increasing the vegetable intake and mixing salad with each meal is an excellent choice as these foods increase fiber intake and increase the intestinal outflow tract to clear up the undesired buildup. Adequate hydration is absolutely essential to this diet as well. So we will do everything we can to make you successful but one must follow the diet as closely as humanly possible.
Problems
Constipation can occur with inadequate water intake. Laxatives should not be used.
Plateau
This occurs when the patient slows down losing weight which generally occurs during the second half of the course of treatment. It can last 4-6 days and usually corrects itself. Patients get worried because they expect to continually lose weight, however, this can be a normal occurrence in the weight program. Breaking the plateau can be done with the apple method. It begins at lunch and continues until just before lunch the next day. Eat up to 6 apples whenever you're hungry as long as not over 6 apples per day during this process and not allowed to eat or drink anything other than water and the apples
The good thing is that for the first 2 days of the HCG injections you can eat as much fat and sweets as you desire. This is actually a fat loading. That is so important to make sure that one will not be hungry for the rest of the diet program. This actually primes your system to release its fat stores. Starting day 3 is the strict adherence to the diet prescribed for you. Every patient is seen regularly and the program modified for their individual needs.
The other good news is that for those who don't like injections, oral human chorionic gonadotropin is available.

Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (HCG) for Weight Loss:
HCG is a hormone that is produced by the placenta and maximizes the functional capacity of the body’s control centers in the hypothalamus. That one center in the hypothalamus, “the fat bank”, controls the movement and distribution of fat throughout the body. HCG mobilizes abnormal fat and releases it as a source of energy and nutrients. Thus, small amounts of HCG have been shown to mobilize abnormal fat and make it available to the body as a source of energy and nutrients.
The HCG protocol calls for a 500 calorie per day diet. If someone were to start a 500 calorie per day diet without HCG he or she would experience hunger, cravings, feelings of misery and a loss of structural fat and muscle mass. However, a 500 calorie per diet on HCG, a patient typically loses up to one pound of abnormal fat per day. Each pound of fat contains approximately 3500 calories. If people lose one pound of abnormal fat in one day, that makes 3500 calories available to them. This gives patients access to adequate amounts of energy because the rest of the calories are generated internally through the breakdown of fat deposits (lipolysis). Therefore, the patient is not hungry and loses weight. At Carolina Slender Center we generally give a little extra protein to sustain muscle mass while on the HCG weight loss diet. The extra protein bumps most patients calorie intake to approximately 600 to 1000 calories. We feel a diet of only 500 calories for a sustained period of time (more than 3 weeks) is not a healthy approach to weight loss. Our customized HCG weight loss plans try to give the patient both the best of a healthy lifestyle and the weight loss they desire.
